More Progress on Mini Album

I hope this is not too long for you all but there is a large amount of pics and I swear I am going to have to do something about this and save up for a video camera so I can just do a U Tube video for you all to see. I asked my son-in-law last night if I could use a webcam to do U Tube videos and he said that I could so I might have to get one of those first because they are cheaper than a video camera. Crawl before you walk as the saying goes lol.
Okay on with the pics I am not going to describe every pic otherwise I would be here all day long hehe. But on some of them I just want to explain the details. This first pic is a photo mat and the bottom part with the black design is flocked and it is lovely to the touch.

In this second pic I took a close up of the ribbon which is cotton broderie and it was white but I Glimmer Misted it in Olive Vine and I love how it turned out.

This is a transparency over the top of journalling tags

First tag embossed in black embossing powder, the other two have been Perfect Pearled which I also love.

This is a chipboard tag and it is from the same piece as the first photo mat but I managed to just use the flocked piece and man does it look great in real life. The other side is copper painted and crackled.

This is Glimmer Misted in the Olive Vine as well but using the Glimmer Screens - wrought iron gates. . . .love it!!!
This pic has a chipboard frame which is only adhered on one side so a pic can just slide in and I have used copper paint and crackled over the top again.

These next few pics are of a business sized envelope that I wanted to add to the paper bag album and I have folded it in half and cut the ends off and then covered with designer papers etc

Okay that is it for now. I am almost finished my album so when it is done I will post the final pics of it and then start on another one lol.

This Post is For Janice

This is a beautiful crocheted blanket that Janice sent to me for my little grandaughter and I should have done this post ages ago so my sincere apologies Janice for not posting these pics sooner my friend.
I have to tell you that when I opened the parcel from Janice Sophie almost pounced on the box as the colour spilled out. I said to her "Oh look Soph darling this is for you" Well that was enough for my little grandaughter to run off with it lol. The first pic is of her twirling it around so my apologies for the blurriness of the pic lol but she was hard to capture hehehe

This next one is of her sharing her new blanket with her Poppa but he only got a leg covered and that was all she was prepared to share lol. She is eating her banana at the same time which made the twirling even more impressive hehehe.

A little blurry again but she kept jumping around so this was the best of a blurry lot rotflmbo
This pic is of her pretending to go to sleep but let me tell you it did not last long I wish I had captured the little grin she gave me just after I took this pic it was absolutely priceless.

This last pic is the aftermath of the little grin and she was being a little cheeky but cute if you get my drift (says a proud grandmother).

So Janice from little Soph and her Nannie thankyou so much and the blanket stays at my house for her sleepovers as she loves going to bed with it in her cot, and when I tell her it is nigh nigh time she runs in and grabs the blanket of the end of her bed and waits for me to lift her in. She then gives it to me to cover her up and quite contentedly goes to sleep with a little wave to her nannie. Thankyou sincerely Janice for the most beautiful gift. I have another post to do about the progress of my mini album and I am warning you now that it will be long as there a quite a few pics.

FTL - #67

This week over at Clean and Simple the sketch to follow was set out below. . .

This is my interpretation of the sketch above

Nice and clean and simple. I love that sometimes things come together so quickly you are finished before you really get started lol. So it is late and I am so tired and I am off to bed.

Project Tuesday - Pocket Card

This week over at Project Tuesday the challenge is to make a pocket card and there was a link to a tutorial from Beate over st Splitcoast Stampers. I gotta say it was an easy card to do but so effective when complete. . . .I love it!!!

The first pic is of the insert as well as the pocket behind it.

This is what it looks like with the insert inside the pocket. I love the way this turned out. I am off to bed now as it is late in my neck of the woods.

Progress with my First Paper Bag Album - Lots of pics

So I decided to take some pics of the progress of my very first paper bag album or even mini album. I have not done them before but I have spent so many hours over the last five days or so watching as many U Tube videos as I could about them and I have to say I think I am addicted to mini albums now. I love everything about them from the size, to their thickness, oh the thickness is to die for, the embellishments, all the techniques used. I tell totally addicted they have taken over from my cards whereby I don't care if I don't make cards on a regular basis anymore lol. All I want to do is make mini albums. I am also on the waiting list to be in a swap club with mini albums hehehe that is how addicted I am. So check out the progress on my album. . . .

The large rhinestone below was a clear one and I alcohol inked it with Lettuce alcohol ink. . .beautiful!! Nothing is too hard. I punched out the little tags with a SU Tag punch and I made the envelope that holds the tags.

Okay now this pic below is a business envelope folded in half and covered with designer paper to create two smaller pockets to be inserted in amongst the paper bag envelopes.

This last pic is my little man, Shaman who is sound asleep at my feet under the desk as I type. I could not resist taking this pic of him curled up in a ball.

Okay for me this evening that is all I've got for now.

Card Patterns - #40

Today's card is for the Card Patterns challenge. Below is the sketch for this week. . .

Here is my take on the above sketch. I really like how this turned out. The flip side of the designer paper is this purple colour and there is a lovely script over most of the 12 x12 piece but it fades out in one corner and I just had to choose that corner to cut didn't I? Serves me right for not checking lol.

I have recycled the twine from a parcel I received from an online scrapbooking store this week and I thought it was too good to waste for sure. Okay for me that is another christmas card completed to add to my stash.

Wacky Wednesday Hump Day - #6

This is the sketch over at Paper Popsicles for Wacky Wednesday Hump Day.

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. . . .

I just had to use my new Basic Grey Nook and Pantry 6x6 paper pad and elements to complete this card. . .not sure if I like it or not but there you go. I will let my blogging family be the judge of this one lol. As it is now 1.16am in the morning I think that will be it for me.

My New Passion

These little metal oval tags are compliments of my husband who has had them in his stash for over 45 years!! I asked him tonight if he had any old metal washers or nuts etc and he said he would go and have a look and these little beauties are what he came back with. I am so delighted with them but he only had seven and no more so I have to covet them lol. Are any of you surprised about me coveting things lol?

This is what one looked like after I sanded it back and then alcohol inked it and then stamped on it with Versamark and then embossed it with Copper embossing powder. Man it looks awesome!!

This is another angle of the tag. These are going to go onto mini albums which have become my new passion after seeing u tube videos on some of the swaps that this wonderful group of women are doing in the US. They are stunning!!!

This is an acetate sheet to go into a mini album that I have also alcohol inked and then using black Staz On and SU Barouque Motifs and Friends 24-7 to stamp these images on with. I tried to emboss them and heat them but my heat gun was far too hot and it just distorted them so I guess I have to put a SU heat gun on my wish list hehehe.
All in all though these pics don't do the finished article any justice as the light was getting in the way too much even with the flash off. . . .sorry about that. It is a shame that I only have seven of these little metal tags as I would love to have hundreds of them for sure. Okay that is it until another time.

My Creative Space

I have not played with Kirsty over at Kootoyoo's blog for such a long time even though I check them out every Thursday and today I thought I have a little spare time to take some pics of my space so why not lol. So this is in my space today. Two projects I am currently trying to get finished. . . .anyone know that line??? lol

This is a closer look at the first project and I really want to have this one finished by this weekends market. All the potential buyer has to do is add their own pics and journalling and the album will be complete. When I finish it that is lol. I added some more chipboard pages to the album after cutting them out with my Spellbinders Label One dies. In the background there to the left is the new little vintage envelopes I made yesterday for journalling tickets.

This is a closer look at the other project lol. I just love these old world coloured papers. I have to get some ink for my printer so I can print out a 2010 mini calendar to go in here as well before I can finish this project off. So if you want to play along with me pop on over to Kootoyoo's blog and join in the fun each Thursday.

Sketch Girl - #8

Over at the Sketch Girl blog today this was the sketch to follow. . . .

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. I really like this card. I used all Stampin' Up! supplies except for the little cookie cutter die which was a gift from Sherry and this was the first time I used it and I love it, love it, love it. I will be using it heaps now. . .thanks so much Sherry. Okay that is all for now until I can get some ink into this contrary printer of mine so I can print out mini calendar for 2010 to add to my off the page project before I can post it.
