365 Cards - #243 & Wacky Wednesday's Hump Day -#5

I am combining two challenges today. The layout is for Paper Popsicles Wacky Wednesday's Hump Day and the flowers are for 365 Cards. There are flowers everywhere on my card. I only slightly coloured the image with SU Pastels.
This is my interpretation of the above sketch.

Okay that is all I have today.

FTL #65

The sketch over at Clean and Simple is set out below and I really love the clean lines of this challenge blog but the finished project always looks fabulous in my opinion lol.

This is my take on the above sketch. I bought these little price tags from my local newsagent the other day thinking I would like to have a play with them. They have white cotton to tie around the item for sale so I used distress inks to colour the tag and wound the cotton around the flower from behind it so it just hangs there. I like how it looks on the card.

I used the background designer paper in really thin strips to use as "thread" in the button and I love how it turned out. Also on the scalloped edges I used a really small holed punch to punch between the scallops and if you click on the card you will be able to see it better. Ok that is all from me today.

The Sweetest Thing - #41

Today the sketch over at My Sweetest Thing was the sketch right below so I set about completing the challenge as I liked the layout.

This is my take on the above sketch. The ribbon does match but it looks like it doesn't in the pic lol but I promise it really does hehe.

The stamp set I used was from SU Sale-a-bration this year and it stamps really nicely. Okay that is it or me today.

U Stamp project - Simple Thankyou Cards & Box

This is my first finished project from U Stamp. I chose to make it in Spring colours instead of Christmas so that I can give it to someone for Christmas as a gift. All supplies used are Stampin' Up!

This is the cards from inside the box, the instructions stated to use the Note Cards from the catalogue and since I didn't have those I chose to make my own based on the size of the Note Cards.
Okay it is late and I am heading to bed as it has been a long day.

365 Cards - #237 - Friday's Five

The challenge over at 365 Cards today is all about using five different stamps on your card today. Any combination of stamps - sentiments, backgrounds, other images, all count as long as there are 5 on your card. Well I got my new stamp set from 2 Peas In A Bucket this week after seeing Kristina Werner using this stamp set on one of her videos. So I christened it tonight to make my card. I put the set next to my card so you could all see that it is a seven piece stamp set and there are only two in the set that are still new after making my card lol.

This one I took sort of side on so you could see the glitter on the bat and the spider border down the bottom of my card hehe. I also used Flower Soft compliments of Sherry from Button Junkie on the spiders back. . .and now it is a red back spider which we have here in Australia lol. The designer paper was a gift from Janice and I so didn't want to use it because I just want to look at my papers that she sent me lol.

This is just a close up of my card only. I hope you like it. I adore the bat in this set. That is all from me tonight. I have a big fair this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday so I will be busy all weekend.

365 Cards - #236 - Pretty Paisley

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge is Pretty Paisley - Use a Paisley pattern on your card. You can use background paper or a stamp - or anything, as long as it includes paisley. I adore anything paisley so I had to do this challenge for sure. I chose SU designer paper from last year in Close To Cocoa which has a paisley print on it and the paisley stamp in from my ancient stash. Everything else on my card is SU.

It is a very short post tonight as I am tired and heading to bed.

Paper Blooms - Circle Card

The challenge today over at Paper Blooms is to make a circle card. This is my last guest designer card and I would like to thank Leah and the design team for having me this month. It has been a real pleasure to work with you all.

I was going to put the crocheted flowers on my card that Leah sent me in my design team parcel but when I cut the inner circle I wondered what it would look like with the crocheted border that I also got in my parcel. So I tried it out and when I started laying it down I realised that it was going to be a perfect fit so I quickly ran the glue around before I could change my mind and there you have it lol. It was meant to be even if I didn't plan it hehe. I hope you enjoy visiting my blog and checking out my project today. That is all I have for you today. If you would like to know the components of the card please email me.

365 Cards - #230 - Shape Up!

Over at 365 Cards today the challenge is to Shape Up!! Oh bugger! I just realised when I went to type the actual challenge that I misread this one and we are supposed to put one big SEMI circle or many little ones on our card or even make your actual card shape one. Well I thought I was doing so well making my clock and then adding the circle dangly sentiment and off that the jewellery bits from my stash which are circles as well as my brads lol. Oh man how much of a fool do I feel? Please don't answer that!!

Oh well I am not wasting my card since I thought I read circle not semi circle lol so here is my card for the challenge today. . . .

And here is a close up of the jewellery bits that I added that were CIRCLES (complete ones) lol.

I think I might crawl into a corner for now and think about what I have done hehehe

Paper Play -#39 Favourite Embellishment

Decided to play with the PaperPlay challenge this week for week #39 and the challenge was to use your fav embellishment. Well my fav is definitely flowers with ribbon running a close second. So on my card I decided to use both. I like how this card turned out.

Okay that is it for now but might be back later with another project to show you.

365 Cards - #229 - Colour Scheme

Today over at 365 Cards Pam has given us a colour scheme to follow. Well colour schemes aren't too hard to follow. The colours Pam chose are below. . . .

So off I went pulling this out and that out of my stash and lately I have used so much SU Kraft cardstock I had to virtually sit on my hands to stop myself from reaching out for it again. Today I used SU Certainly Celery and Vanilla Confetti as well as SU Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon and Chocolate Chip stamp pad. The heart brads were from my stash as well as my watercolours. I did faux stitching around the top part only this time I used SU black journalling pen instead of my white gel pen from SU.

I hope you like my creation today. That is it for me tonight. Please feel free to leave constructive comments hehehehe

FTL #63

Thanks again to Sherry for finding this challenge for us to do. Sherry found Clean & Simple Fall To Layout and put her entry in this morning and because we live across the world from each other I put mine in tonight even though I completed it at lunchtime today I was taking care of my little grandaughter Sophia while my daughter went to work. Soph's needs come before Nannie gets to play with her own stuff lol so I had to wait until she went to bed. The sketch we were to follow is the one below and as the blog title states Clean and Simple which is always a good thing.

This is my interpretation of the above sketch I hope you like it. I chose not to use any designer paper with this card, I just used stamps to create a designer paper look (I hope). I used SU Well Worn Words background stamp with River Rock ink and then over stamped with Chocolate Chip with Season Of Joy stamp set. The sentiment is from SU Always stamp set. On the actual card base I used the same stamps that I used with the Chocolate Chip but used Versamark instead. I inked all the edges in Chocolate Chip. I am really happy with the outcome and even though you cannot see much of it the Chocolate Chip cardstock was run through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Thats it for me for now.

Pencil Lines - #155

I decided to take part in the Pencil Lines challenge this week and was going to take part last week but chickened out at the last minute. I did the page and all but did not have a pic available to me at the time, so it is still sitting over at my workstation waiting for the pic to finish it off lol. The sketch we were to follow is the one listed below. . .

Here is my interpretation of the above sketch. It was really difficult to fit this large pic on an 8 x 8 page therefore I could only put one pic on the page. The pic is of my little grandaughter Sophia with my grandson Elijah in the background there. The real life pic is stunning and much clearer but I took this late tonight and the glare from the light behind me shone straight onto the pic. . .sorry about that. This pic was only taken just over a week ago. I have the most beautiful grandchildren and I'm not biased lol.. . .much!!!

So that is all from me tonight. I have a very full weekend coming up.

365 Cards - #222 - Pick 5

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge was to choose five components for your card not including your base card, but included designer paper, ribbon, image, embellishments etc. Okay I thought I would make my very first Christmas card for the year as the new SU designer paper pack came in my parcel the other day (see this post) and was just waiting to be used, so I obliged. I used my SU Season Of Joy stamp set which has always been a fav of mine, my new level one hostess stamp set for the sentiment and the rest is self explanatory but see supply list at the end of my post if you want the finer details.
1. Designer paper
2. Sentiment
3. Image
4. Ribbon
5. Backing cardstock on image

Okay that is my card for today. I have a lot to do today so I had better get cracking.

Sketch Girl - #6

I found another wonderful challenge that was recommended to me by a friend. I checked it out and decided that I would take part. The sketch to follow this week is the one below of course lol

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. I chose to do an Autumn card even though we are in the middle of Spring in Australia lol I love the autumn tonings and what better when you have Basic Grey's Indian Summer 6 x 6 paper pad to choose from. The image is from a digital set I purchased on line here. I have used several of the images on cards now. It is a great set.

Okay that again is all from me for now.

Paper Blooms Guest Design post

I was asked by Leah to be a guest designer for the Paper Blooms challenge blog for this month and I jumped at the opportunity. If you haven't participated on this blog before then why don't you give them a go it is a wonderful blog. Leah makes her own crocheted blooms and butterflies and she sent me some to use on my cards for this month. Today the challenge was Monochromatic so I chose to make mine white and may I say that this is the very first time I have created an all white card and I love it!!!! I used my Victoria, Swiss Dots and Paisley Cuttlebug embossing folders to create that look of texture on my card. The Swiss Dots is used on the scallop oval. I wanted this card to be soft, feminine and elegant, therefore I chose to use Ranger Tea Dye distress ink instead of a harsh colour like black or red or similar. I used my brand new Oval All stamp set from SU. I have to say I love how this card turned out. I used my crocheted butterfly on the upper right side giving her two Kaisercraft rhinestones at the tip of her antennas.

I look forward to seeing what you all create this fortnight and I hope to see heaps more people taking part in the challenge from here on in. I promise you will not regret it.

New Products arrived from SU

Today my Stampin' Up! order came and I opened the box up and thought this is so pretty lol I decided to take a pic before I touched anything. Underneath all of the supplies there are eight packs of A4 cardstock assorted and two packs of 12 x 12 designer paper. Oh my I had such a great time unpacking everything. I purchased more tools of the trade this time as I am getting ready to make video tutorials once my video camera comes so I wanted to have as much SU supplies as I could afford. I even bought a Fiskars trimmer from SU so I could use it in my videos but I already have a Kaisercraft one and another type of Fiskars trimmer but this is the official one used by SU. I only bought the Oval All stamp set #116877, Sense Of Time stamp set #116885, Tree Trimmings stamp set #116893 and Kind Heart single stamp for the back of cards I wish to sell #116681. All these stamps sets can be found in the current Spring Mini. So if you wish to order any of these supplies or any other SU product please contact me on my email listed on my blog. Prompt service guaranteed.

So once I unpacked the box and put things away after stroking the designer papers and mounting all the stamp sets I could not wait to ink the Sense Of Time set #116885 up. I stamped the clock onto Whisper White but then used Distress Ink and I was only going to do the borders but decided to change the look all over and I love how it turned out. The grid paper in the background was a free download from the Kaisercraft site and it was a whole bundles including papers etc. I then stamped the clock workings from the set Sense Of Time on the grid paper. I used my brand new SU Spiral punch #108341 which I am in total love with lol and the sentiment is a Hostess level one set called Best Yet and it has some great sentiments in assorted fonts. I punched it out using my new Designer Label punch #107590. The background paper is Cosmo Crickets Earth Love 6 x 6 paper pad another fav of mine. I put this all onto my fav cardstock SU Kraft.

Let me know what you think of the finished card. I made this just because I wanted to and had so much fun doing it. Okay I am off to finish my daughters photo album to send over to England for her husbands sisters children whom they hope to bring out to Australia to live with them.

All Sorts Challenge Week - #21

I found another new challenge blog called All Sorts Challenge Blog that I really liked the look of so I decided to take part this week and they were using my fav cardstock. . . .KRAFT!!! I just purchased a new pack of 40 A4 sheets from Stampin' Up! a few weeks ago and bought another pack last week just to make sure I don't run out lol. If you use an image from the Pink Petticoat then you can add your name twice on the Mr Linky link on the All Sorts blog. I have some great images from the Pink Petticoat that I have purchased over the last few months. They have fantastic digital image sets and singular images for sale.

I used all Stampin' Up! supplies except for the digital image and Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Dye.
So that is it for me today until later on that is as I have one to make for a guest design spot.

Basic Grey Challenge - #5

I decided to take part in the Basic Grey challenge this month as I found their blog by accident while I was trawling around the net. I really like the sketch so I thought I would join in the fun. Below is the sketch we were to follow. . . .

And this is my interpretation of the above sketch.

I used the Boxer set of papers which I adore and have made many journals and cards from this series and every time I find some more I buy it lol. I chose to accent the pale blue which is on the Fedora print so on this card it is the two background pieces and you can see some pale blue on the right hand side of the card.
So that is it for me today.

New Papers Sent From Sherry

Hey there everyone, I just got through the mail yesterday afternoon three new 6 x 6 paper pads from Sherry. Two are from Cosmo Cricket - The Boyfriend and Earth Love and the other is the delightfully gorgeous Basic Greys Indian Summer. They are all fantastic and I adore each of them, I am still stroking them and I must have picked up each pad and gone through them a hundred times since they arrived yesterday afternoon. So because I have been wanting them for so long I decided to get straight into making a couple of cards in honour of these paper pads. The first one is from The Boyfriend and is very Kristina Werner inspired in it's design and the second one is from Indian Summer with the image being a digital set I purchased from here. I adore each card for different reasons. What do you think?

Okay I am off to the Gold Coast today to pick up a lovely leather lounge suite which my dad is giving us.
