RAK From 66msclaudia

Hello there everyone, not much happening that I can show here as I am just finishing up my mini album swap and I cannot show you that until my swap partner receives it lol. But last Friday I received from a lovely woman in the US named Claudia, some beautiful and I mean beautiful K&C Que Sera Sera paper stacks and embellishments. I did do my first youtube video on it and if you would like to see me make a fool of myself feel free. . .my you tube channel is bohemiangypsy99.

The paper line is stunning and I am going to covet for some time to come before I use it lol. I didn't think to put it up here on my blog after doing the video but I should have sung it from the rooftops, well I was here, so I'm sorry for not sharing with you all and will try and be a better blogger next time hehehe.

I cannot thank Claudia enough for her generosity in sending me this beautiful gift, but thankyou so much Claudia. Not sure if she will see my blog but that doesn't matter, I just wanted my followers to know what a wonderful act of kindness I received. Okay that is all tonight sorry.

Mini Swap tag pics

Well for all you Aussies out there today Happy Australia Day!!!! Today is a day where we celebrate Australia and everything that entails, for a lot of people here it means getting together with family and friends and having the good old Aussie BBQ in the backyard or inside watching the cricket lol and for some it is the day that the Australia Day medals are given out and I missed the awards last night to see who got Australian of the Year. I am so sorry I have not blogged for a couple of days but over the weekend my friends healing centre where I worked doing massage one day a week, burnt down. Now I don't mean just her centre but the whole block with flats upstairs above the shops. The building is over 100 years old and it was a sad thing to witness. I had just moved all my stuff back home on the Thursday as I had decided to just work from home only doing my massage so I did not lose much only a few hundred dollars worth of stock I had in her shop but my friend lost everything all her years of work gone in half an hour it took for the fire to rage through. I have spent some time with my friend and then helping her to write a list of things she had to do immediately once she had mourned the loss of her business. Therefore my blog took a back seat for a few days.
Also I have not done a card challenge or anything as I have been getting my swap partners mini album completed. I am hoping she does not visit my blog until she receives her mini from me. So what I have to show you are some of the tags from inside the mini.

The tag on the far right of the above pic with the word Artists on it is a top note that has on the other side a metal embossed and alcohol inked top note to match but I cut it out of a Pepsi Max can which my scrubby had flattened out for me. It worked a treat and I will be doing some more down the track. Needless to say that it is recycling at it's best lol.

On the left here with the words The Story on it is a vellum envelope with a tri-fold inside for photos and journalling. The flower to the right of that has been alcohol inked with several colours and then the alcohol solution dropped in various places to give that mottled look. . . I love how this turned out. Doing minis is all about the different techniques lol and I just love them for that reason as it stretches your creativity. Okay that is all from me tonight.

SASC - Project Tuesday - Mini Pizza Box

Okay ladies this week over at Stamps and Smiles - Project Tuesday the challenge was to create a mini pizza box and they had a link to the tutorial of how to make it. I just loved it and the perfect little box for Valentine's Day in my opinion. So I chose my brand new paper line from one of the major paper companies and if you would like the details please email me. I used the Spellbinders Labels 1, the ribbon is from my friend Sherry which was part of my christmas parcel from her. The sentiment is from my ancient stash from 18 years ago which I think is a Hero Arts stamp. The cardstock and stamp pads are from Stampin' Up! I coloured the hearts in the sentiment with some Kindy Glitz - Crystalline. All in all I am happy with how this little box turned out.

This is a side view of the box so show the two layers of the butterfly punch that I used.

Okay I am off to finish up my swap mini and I was just waiting to get my SU order which came yesterday so I can finish it up.

Card Patterns - #47

Here I am back again so soon after the last entry today lol. I actually had them both made I just had to post them is all lol. The sketch below is the one we had to follow this week over at Card Patterns.

and here is my interpretation of the above sketch. I used a brand new paper line for this card and if you would like to know the details please email me. I thought I would do a Valentine's Day card this time as I have to get some made for the markets along with a Valentine's Day inspired Soy Melt and some romance type aromatherapy products to package up and sell as well. If anyone is interested in one of these Romance packages then drop me an email I do custom orders as well.

Okay for today that is it for me. I have a couple of orders to get out before the end of the week.

Sketches {By Tamara} - #103

Okay here we are at another day and I have chosen to do the challenge being offered over at Sketches! {By Tamara}. It was a nice sketch as you can see below. . . .
This is my interpretation of the above sketch and I just love the vintage look of it. Everything is SU except for the ribbon and DSP. The stamp set used is a retired set that I purchased on EBay and I just love it.

Okay I have another card to post for Card Patterns so I will be back shortly.

Finished Keepsake/Recipe Box

I know it has been a few weeks since I showed you this keepsake box but things have been kind of hectic to say the least, so I only got around to completing it tonight. I have some tea dyed crocheted lace across the front from my stash with a SU Hodgepodge Aged Copper (no longer available) ribbon slide in the middle. I also used this lovely beaded length across the bottom of the lid which I just adore as I think it lends itself the vintage look of the box. I Glimmer Misted the white roses with Suede and added the strand pearls behind it tied in a bow. You could use this for a recipe card box but I think it is far too lovely to sit in the kitchen so I am going to keep it as a sample for my vintage classes and use it for photos.

Okay that is it for me tonight and it is getting kind of late. But I will be back tomorrow with more.

SSSC - #52

Okay ladies here is the correct challenge for the correct week. I cannot believe that I did what I did last night lol. I am blaming menopause!!!!!! That is my story and I am sticking to it lol. I had a lot of fun doing this correct challenge and used a brand new paper line just out and if you would like to know the details please email me and I would be happy to tell you cause it is secret squirrel stuff hehehe. Below is the sketch we were to follow. . . .

and here is my interpretation of the above sketch. As I said I had a lot of fun doing this one.

Okay I am off to embellish my keepsake box that I showed you a couple of weeks ago and have now got the embellies to finish this little puppy off. I cannot wait to see what it looks like complete. Then I have two weeks worth of Life Q's to catch up on. . . .shame on me!!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch -#21

********THIS IS THE WRONG SKETCH FOR #52. MY APOLOGIES BECAUSE WHEN I CLICKED ON THE CHALLENGE BLOG IT BROUGHT UP #21 SO I JUST MADE THE CARD AND DID NOT EVEN LOOK AT THE DATE HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE. NOW I WILL HAVE TO MAKE ANOTHER CARD FOR THE RIGHT WEEK CHALLENGE #52 IS THE CORRECT ONE. SO STAY TUNED.*********

Back again with another card for another challenge blog lol. This time I am doing the Sweet Sunday Sketch which is directly below. I don't normally like doing this sort of thing with all the squares which you have to line up because they always end up crooked so I chose to challenge myself to complete this one.

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. I must say I do love this paper and if you would like to know the details please leave me a comment as it is a non SU brand therefore I cannot list it here. But I am happy to let you know by email. I was happy with the finished card and it ended up being not too crooked hehehehe.

I may be back with one more card tonight or I may just continue on with completing my mini for the swap over at the Scrapbeach.

FTL #74

I have chosen a few card challenges to do today as I have not made any for a while. This is the first one that I chose. I always love doing this challenge. So clean and simple just like the name of the blog states lol. The challenge was to follow the sketch below.

This is my interpretation of the above sketch. I had to make a few little adjustments to the card because I sell my cards and I just wanted a bit more on it is all but basically it follows the above sketch.

I will be back with more later on in the day.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Hello everyone. Sorry but have not been able to post what I have been doing the last couple of days as it is a mini album swap for Trade Wind Scrappers for January and I don't want my swap partner to see it before it is finished. All I will say is that it will be vintage and I am loving it lol. So I thought I would show you what my little grandaughter is doing instead. These were taken yesterday as she was eating her first cherry tomatoes and she must have eaten about seven of them but you all know how when you bite them the seeds and juice just pop out all over the place and well I could not let the moment pass without snapping her enjoying them. Notice her dress lol her Poppa dressed her that morning (yesterday) and he put her little dress on back the front bless him lol.

This pic here shows Sophia cheesing it up for the camera and right as I clicked the camera she was half way between a cheesy grin and an outright laugh. . . .too cute for sure!!!!

Okay that is all I have well I do have more but cannot show you I would have to kill you if I did hehehehehe. I will try to make something else for this afternoon after I get home from the markets today.

Mini Made From A Piece Of 12X12 DSP

Hi everyone. I am a little late this evening posting my project for today but I have been trying to sort out my video camera and uploading videos to you tube. Finally had success so it should upload overnight fingers crossed. This little project I have created today, well I made it the other day but finished it today lol. It has been created out of a piece of 12x12 DSP just scored and cut and folded in certain ways to create this little album. I have made the tags to go into all the pockets and there are ten in total.

These first two pics are of course of the front cover . . .

This last pic is a side view of the inner pages and tags and pockets.

This is only a little project and quite quick to make. I am going to use this for a mini of a date that my husband and I plan to go on in the next few weeks. When I have put the pics into the album and embellished it and done all the journalling, I will post again to show you what it looks like.

Final Calendar Pics

Hello again everyone. Well here I am on another day with another calendar post and it is the last one lol. This has been so much fun to make. As I said yesterday the tag at the side of each month is to explain what the stars are in each month. Therefore In January we have New Years Day and Australia Day and the red stars on those days indicate a public holiday, special event or birthday.

I just love October. The skeleton trinket my husband found in his rounds at work on the ground so he brought in home for me and said here is something for your mini's Shell lol. He knows me well that man lol. The skeleton may be missing a bone on one side but it gives him character hehehe. I have also added some skeleton ribbon and a small black bat brad in the flower which are things I got in my huge RAK from Mel. Of course I had to put an orange and black flower as they are traditional colours of Halloween. We don't celebrate Halloween as a nation here in Australia but we, as a family, celebrate it.

This is December with a candy cane, a resin tile for Dec 25th and a Poinsettia down the bottom. So many days in this month - my birthday, Elijahs, his dad's Paul and my dad as well as Christmas and Boxing Day. Okay that is the post for now and I might be back with another one later on in the day or evening.

More Calendar Pics

Hi everyone. Well as promised tonight I have some more pics of my 2010 desk calendar for you to see. If I did not do this post tonight Sherry was going to have my head on a plate lol and she meant business people!!! She is a much better blogger than me so I still have 2 days to catch up on so tomorrow I will get my own whip out and crack it so that I get that done and up here. I am heading towards 30,000 visits to my blog and with that comes. . . . .a blog candy!!! Not sure what is going to be going into the blog candy but it will be some nice things for sure, so when the time gets closer I will do a blog candy post.

February of course has Valentines Day in it so I had this silver heart trinket that I alcohol inked in Cranberry and placed it over the 14. I think it looks rather cute lol

April has of course the Easter break in it therefore I had some Beatrix Potter chipboard stickers that I got for free on a craft magazine so I put him on the Good Friday showing him making his way to Easter Sunday chewing a carrot on his journey and then I put this cute little brad on Easter Sunday saying "Bunny Crossing" far too cute. This is one of the many, many brads that Mel sent me in a RAK parcel which I cannot thank her enough for such a generous warm chick.

May has of course Mothers Day in it and therefore I put a large rhinestone flower on that day but it was pink so again I alcohol inked it in Currant. I also put a tag behind that months calendar so stay tuned for tomorrow nights entry (final calendar pics) to find out what the tag is for in the meantime it is secret squirrel.

June, July and August are fairly ordinary but I will jazz them up some more just could not think of anything else to do on them just yet, I was a bit brain dead lol. So that is my post today.

My 2010 Desk Calendar

Here is a 2010 Desk Calendar which I made today using my 7 Gypsies 6x6 paper pad that Sherry sent me in my christmas parcel along with lots of other goodies of course lol. I purchased the digital calendar file from the House of 3 for Heidi Swapp and Teresa Collins which they did together as part of a joint project. I absolutely love the calendar as it is vintage but a little grungy which is of course right up my alley. I distressed around the edges of each chipboard page and each calendar page. I will decorate the months accordingly if there happens to be a holiday in that month.

I will post more pics of finished pages tomorrow.

Finished Front Cover of my Journal

Hello everyone here is my finished front cover for my Lifes Questions Journal that I did. I used antique music sheet paper for my flowers and Distress Ink and I love how they have turned out. I also tore a piece and Mod Podged it onto the cover. I have used Distress ink on the letters and then covered them in Glossy Accents. I stamped the background with the SU French Flair background stamp which has now retired and it is a real shame lol. The only thing I could kick myself for is not distressing the edges of the music sheet that I laid onto the cover. . .DOH!!! And I should have run gold acrylic around the edges of the cover what do you think?

Let me know what you think about the cover and now I am starting to work on the first question.

Brand New Project I am working on. . . .

I found a you tube video last night on creating a journal with your old christmas cards. You paint your cardstock with Gesso and then acrylics etc and then create what you like on the page answering the prompt each week and your page will be your interpretation of the prompt in art form and or journalling. There will be a different prompt every week. The journal is titled "Life Q's as in Life Questions. The questions will make you look inside yourself and through art discover who you are and what you want in your life and or what is important, your dreams, goals etc. It really appealed to me on a personal front so I am in for the long haul and madly ran around getting my cards organised etc. My eldest daughter Courtney has also decided to make one. I will regularly post progress of my journal throughout the coming year to show you what it is looking like. The first pic is the front cover which I have just laid the letters down and well as the half top note cut outs.

The second pic shows you what the journal looks like with your cards before they are painted over.
And this third one shows that nothing on the cover is stuck down yet I was just placing them to see how they looked. Need to embellish my cover with some other things yet.
That is my blog post tonight.

365 Cards - #312 - Metal Mania

Over at 365 Cards today Pam wants us to include metal on our card in the words of Pam "I'm talking about putting a piece of metal of your card. Any size, shape or amount will do, as long as there's some metal on your card." So on my card I used three metal brads. I was going to put eyelets but then changed my mind. This card is to show a friend that I can do other cards other than vintage lol. I have stamped underneath the 3D butterfly in grey on the base card piece but you cannot set it but it looks like a shadow.

All supplies used in my card today are Stampin' Up! If you would like to know anything about the card please don't hesitate to email me. That is all from me tonight I am tired and heading off to bed as I am babysitting my little grandaughter and she awakens rather early lol.

SASC - 3x3 Notecard Box

Hi everyone well it is another day and I have missed two days already shame on me hey!! I will just have to make up for it and do something else today and post it. I chose to do the Stamps and Smiles challenge today for their Project Tuesday challenge which was to make a notecard box with 3x3 cards inside it. I used all SU supplies for my project except for the rhinestones and ribbon. I used the Parisan Breeze heavy duty DSP and it is the first time I have been able to bring myself to use it lol and I gotta say I love it but only have the one pack so will have to use it sparingly.

This last pic is a tad blurry sorry folks. Taking a pic one handed ain't easy for me lol. Okay until my next entry. . . .

365 Cards - #309 Super Sketchy Sunday

Hello everyone, well another project and since I was out for most of the day today I did not feel like getting stuck into something more involved that a card tonight and what better way to kick off the week but with a sketch from 365 Cards. Pam chose a sketch today that appealed to me very much so I got straight into it.

This is my interpretation of the above sketch.

Most of what you see on this card tonight came in my christmas parcel from Sherry, thanks so much Sherry for the lovely scrappy gifts. I will treasure them but use them lol. A standing joke between us hehehehe. That is all from me tonight.

Keepsake Box

Hello there. As promised I am posting another project tonight but it is not quite finished as the day today was rainy which made trying to set Crystal Effects from SU a little hard to do so still waiting on some of my embellishments to set. I have chosen these lovely flowers I got at Spotlight from the wedding section and they were off white so I sprayed them with glimmer mist in Suede. The vintage lace has also been tea dyed to give it that vintage look and in the middle of the lace is a Hodgepodge ribbon slide in aged copper which is now defunct in the catalogue. I bought the beading from my local fabric store in town and it fits with the whole vintage look. Please don't forget if you would like to order any SU supplies please shoot me off an email and I will get back to you asap with prices, delivery dates etc.

These next two pics show the inside of the box and you can use it for keepsake things like love letters and pics of your loved one, or as a photo box and label the sections with either years or events. You could also use it as a recipe box. Thanks to Marion from A Piece Of Craft for providing the instructions for this keepsake box.

Okay another day another project down . . . . well almost anyway lol.
