Polkadoodles Challenge #5 or #6 (not sure)

I decided to spread my wings and enter some more challenges just to keep my hand in and it is always good to try new things isn't it?? Eveyone nod your head yes!! The Polka Doodles challenge blog had a sketch to follow this week but there were other rules as well. . . it had to be landscape, you could not have real ribbon only paper ribbon, you had to colour the image yourself - it could either be a stamped image or a topper and you could use whatever you liked to colour the image with. I pretty much stuck to the challenge with it all including paper ribbon not fabric, although I did not have any paper ribbon so I made some myself using the same cardstock as it had a white core and my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots EF and then sanded the dots to show the white. . .made it look like polka dotted ribbon.

Well I hope you like it.

365 Cards - #111 Say It With Stripes

First things first - Over at 365 Cards today the challenge was to say it with stripes and we had to make a card using bold colours and stripes. This was the brightest stripes I had anywhere in my stash. . .sad but true!! It is a SU paper. The image is from my Cricut - Storybook cartridge as is the butterflies. The cardstock used in the image is Whisper White but I used Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick to colour the background oval and then spritzed it with water which is quite a cool effect. I also used Scattered Straw around the edges of the striped paper.

The sentiment is a little crooked but it was the last thing I did so I was not ditching it but it bugs me a lot that it is crooked lol. Not my normal type of card that I like to create but it is going to have to do today. I didn't do my card last night. . . too tired so I finished it off this morning.

This is my first Post It Organiser that I made but check the pen out. . . it matches!!!

These are the four I completed now. I really like the pink one lol. I should be making more for the markets tomorrow!! That's it until this afternoon. Please enjoy.

365 Cards - #85 Super Sunday Sketch

Well it is Super Sunday Sketch and I know I am very late with mine but I thought we had to use one of the Cutting Cafe digi images so even though I didn't have a lot of money I purchased the cupcake images which in US dollars was 6.99 and in AUS dollars they were nearly 10 dollars so that was a bit of a shock lol.  I thought I would get them straight away but I did not get them until this morning which is Monday morning and then when I went to upload my pic my camera battery was flat so I have patiently waited for that to charge.  Now, finally, I have uploaded it.  So here is my take on the sketch over at 365 Cards for this Sunday.  I paper pieced the cupcake which is a first for me lol. Once again sorry it is late well late for me anyway lol.

365 Cards - #80 Your'e So Plaid

PLAID. . .PLAID You say!!!!  Hell I don't have any plaid lol.  It's not a common one for Australia, back me up Fi!!!  I was a desperate woman.  I searched high and low for something that would resemble PLAID!!!  I sat at my work station sulking %$#*& PLAID.  I folded my arms and said to my husband I'm not doing it.  His response was "Well Shell, you not up for the challenge hey?"  It was like waving a red rag to a bull hehehe.  I sat for a while longer wondering what I was going to do and I glanced over at my watercolour pad then glanced at my Derwents and Eureka!!!!!  A lightbulb moment for sure.  I would make my own PLAID!  It's not very good PLAID but it will pass muster.  I couldn't even manage to rule the lines straight lol but I completed the challenge. . .day 80 DONE!  Have mercy on me it's late at night over here.

I used three colours on making the plaid but it seemed so much better in my mind.  Strange thing that.  I am trying to get a whole week in without missing a day but Pam you are making it difficult.  Did I say I love challenges?  I must be crazy.  Well that's me for the day I hope to gaze at all the other wonderful creations over at 365 Cards

365 Cards - #79 My Fav Manufacturer

It's Monday evening for me so it must be day time for those of you who reside in the Northern Hemisphere lol.  Today's challenge over on 365 Cards was to make your card using your favourite manufacturer.  So if you know me you will know that I would choose anything that The Timster (Tim Holtz) masterminds.  I think he is THE MOST outstanding creative man that our field has ever seen.  My husband thinks I am in love with him lol.  I think I am old enough to be his mother. . . no scrap that maybe his older sister hehehe.  I FINALLY got my Ranger order today after waiting for over eight weeks.  Long story.. . briefly my daughter, Ash and I went halves in getting the whole range of Distress Inks and the craft mats, the whole range of alcohol inks, applicators etc but it has taken us a while to gather the funds together hence the eight weeks.  Today they came!!!  We were too excited for sure.  So in honour of the man himself I created my card using Distress Inks and my very own (and only one) Tim Holtz stamp set which I just won on ebay.  Vintage all the way for me baby!!  That's not to say that I won't be creating other cards as well but I have been waiting soooo long for my stuff to arrive that I will be stampin', creatin' and doin' the happy dance for a long while to come.  Oh did I tell you I was excited. . . .yes I think I did but just in case you didn't read it earlier I had better say it again. . .I am sooooo excited about having my distress inks, I could die happy now lmao.
Now onto the card itself.  As I said I used Tim Holtz Lost and Found stamp set from Stampers Anonymous with some of my tea-dyed lace and just in the top right hand corner there is an acrylic overlay from a vintage set I have had for a while and now I have had the chance to use some of it as I thought it suited perfectly.  The way the image came out is the way it is supposed to come out apparently.  I took eight jolly photos tonight trying to get a good one but every image seemed to be blurry and I am too tired to go get the manual to find out why so I chose the best of a bad lot.  Anyway that's my creation for this Monday.  Looking forward to seeing what everyone else creates.
