365 Cards - #214 - White Space

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge is all about keeping things within the black space and nothing on the white space. Pam it doesn't leave much to use on the card!!!! The layout we were to follow is this one below. . .

And here is my interpretation of that here. Once again I have used the beautiful Halloween papers that Janice sent me as well as the stamp used for the image. This is a very simple card and I will embellish it more before I sell it. I used my Round-It-All for the corners but I am not liking how it turned out and should have left it I think.

I adore this stamp set by Studio G that was in th parcel that Janice sent me. I almost wish it was Halloween all year so I can use it all year lol. I cannot tell you how ecstatic I am to have some Halloween lovliness!!! Okay enough waffling for now. I am off to bed.
In the meantime. . . .

365 Cards - #213 - In Pieces - Long Post

I have a few exciting things to show you today. First the challenge over at 365 Cards was titled In Pieces and we had to use a specific image to use if we wanted to participate which you can see below. Now Pam said we didn't have to use all the pieces but I adore Halloween and I wanted to use all the pieces.

As you can see I paper pieced the pumpkin with SU Orange designer paper (no longer available) AND the background paper is from a RAK from Janice!!!!! After this pic you will see all the stuff I got from Janice. . .man I was just too excited for sure. I cannot thankyou enough Janice. This is my very first Halloween card thanks to Janice. The ribbon doesn't really match the card but I don't care I wanted to use it and use it I did lol. I glittered the stem, leaves and the face of the pumpkin and I know there is one particular person out there who won't like the glitter and thats ok *grins*.

This is a very generous gift that you have sent me and my family because not only did Janice send all the beautiful Halloween and Thanksgiving inspired products she also hand crocheted a delightfully multi coloured afghan rug/blanket for my grandaughter Sophia. I would also have a pic here of that but she is still asleep and she won't let it go lol so it is in her cot with her. I will take one today and post it tomorrow. She has carried it around since yesterday afternoon when we unwrapped the parcel. She oohed and aahed over the papers and clapped in the appropriate places lol but once I took the blanket out that was it she lost interest in my beautiful things and ran off with the new blanket trailing behind her. I wish I had the camera at the ready then to show Janice how utterly cute she was running off with it. I was so not expecting the blanket and it is beautiful I have to say. Sophia said Ta, her Mum, my daughter was lost for words Janice so from her and I thankyou so much for the blanket and from me thankyou from the bottom of my heart for the beautiful gift. Now scroll through all the lovliness I got from Janice. . . .

Look Halloween stamps and a Thanksgiving stamp too!!!! My very first, I was way excited when I saw these lol. You will be seeing a lot of these papers, ribbons and stamps over the coming weeks. Although I want to covet them for a while and stroke them, as I typed that I thought you are so weird Michelle but I know for a fact that a lot of us out there do the very same thing hehehehehe. Okay I think that is all for now folks.

365 Cards - #212 - On The Fringes

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge is to have fringes on at least two sides of your card. The only fringing I had was this lovely wool fibre that I bought some months ago for cards and I finally had the opportunity to use it. . . .yay!!!

I love this stamp set which is a retired set from SU from about 2004-2005 and I purchased it online as a US demo was getting rid of some retired stamp sets. It is so vintage and you could use it for many different projects. Okay that is it for another day.

365 Cards - #211 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Today over at 365 Cards it is Super Sketchy Sunday and the sketch we are to follow is below.

I put this one together in no time at all using the leftovers from my 6x6 piece of June Bug paper from Basic Grey. I don't want to waste a precious piece of it lol. I meant to put this up last night but by the time we got home from my daughters place where we had dinner I was far too tired and was in bed by 10pm!!!! Heaven forbid me in bed by that time!!!!!! This is unheard of unless I am sick and yes I did have a little headache lol. Now here it is 4.15am the next day and I have had enough sleep . . . .well my knees have anyway that I decided to get up and do the post now. Ok girls that is all from this neck of the woods. . .man is it cold this morning, gosh I know it is Spring but geez it feels like winter.

Get Sketchy - #7

Today over at the Get Sketchy challenge blog the sketch for this week is the one shown below. One would think that the easier the sketch the easier it is to do but you would be mistaken lol because I had no problems doing everything up until I had to put an image on my card then I just sat and stared into space wondering what I was going to put there. I got this second hand stamp set from a SU demo because it was nice a vintagy so I wanted to use it asap so this card is the one that had to have one of the images on it hehehe.

I absolutely love this image and you will be seeing lots of it in the near future for sure. Okay that is it for me tonight.

ICS Challenge - #35

I have decided to branch out and try other challenges this week and even add a scrapbooking challenge as well so I can get some scrapbooking done so stay tuned for a page within the next two days. Yesterday I found this fabulous blog called Inspirational Card Sketches. So I decided to do this challenge this week and I love what the design team are doing as well, there's some excellent talent on this blog, so why not pop on over and take a look.

Here is my entry for the sketch this week. I hope you like it. I love it because I adore the papers by Fancy Pants!

The sentiment was from an Autumn collection of digi images which I purchased online a few weeks ago now and I love them. There is a gorgeous tree without leaves which is to die for lol. Okay that is all from me today.

365 Cards - #206 - Tuesday Triplets

Well we have to put three of everything on our card today over at 365 Cards except for the sentiment of course! I think I passed this one girls. I stamped three flowers, I have three butterflies and the flower embellishment stack there has three of them on it. Now wasn't that painless?

Okay the card is over with and now on to something which has been bothering me lately. Where is everyone over at 365 Cards? Do I smell? Am I not wearing the right deodorant? Don't ya'll wanna play anymore? What? What? What is it? Pam said it was because you all are still settling in after the summer and the kids going back to school etc. I hope it's that and that you are all fit and well and no one is too sick to play. . .in saying that. . .Where are you Fi? Don't leave me here with a couple of my friends we all wanna play together in the card pile don't we girls? Okay enough whinging for now. That is all from me tonight over and out!

365 Cards - #205 - Colour Scheme

It is a colour scheme over at 365 Cards today and the colour palatte we are to use is this one below. . .

I received my very first Basic Grey 6x6 paper pad in the mail today. . .doing a jig!! I found an online store in my state that sells them and the Cosmo Cricket and Sassafras Lass ones as well so I am a happy camper because it has been so hard to try and find them here in Australia. One very large scrapbooking store in Lismore said they have no call for them . . .go figure!!!!

So using my very first Basic Grey June Bug paper pad I created this card and it must have been Pam and I having ourselves in tune because this paper pad has ALL those colours listed today in the collection ROTFLMBO. I NAILED IT LADIES!!!!! The paper flower on the left is turquoise and a bright yellow paper bloom as is the top ribbon on the right side but they both look lime green here and I can assure they are not lol. I also used my brand new Martha Stewart lace border punch that I got today in the same parcel as well. . . .ain't it purdy!!!! Okay I finished in record time the challenge has been up for 40 minutes and here I am 45 minutes later finishing my post. . .*taking a bow* Thankyou very much *in my best Elvis impression*

365 Cards - #204 - Super Sketchy Sunday

It is the end of another week over at 365 Cards which means it is Super Sketchy Sunday. This is the sketch we were to follow.

This is my interpretation of that sketch. I do not have any oval shaped cutters or oval Nesties so I had to cut them freehand which is why they are not quite oval but hey another one of those imperfections we talked about earlier lololol. I am going to list the supplies as I go because I am so tired after getting up at the crack of dawn today to go to the markets that I need to go to bed. I was going to go before I made my card but I felt guilty so I stayed up hehehe. Of course I used SU Kraft base with a Riding Hood Red piece next then the ovals are from SU Bella Rose designer paper kit which is probably my fav. On top of that we have SU Whisper White and I used Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black and Riding Hood Red stamp pads with the edges distressed with Ranger distress inks. The large polka dotted flower is from Bella.

The ribbon is from SU as is the stamp set Great Friends. Martha Stewart butterfly punch and SU Tab punch. I also used the Swiss Dot embossing folder and the SU Signo white gel pen which is becoming a big fav of mine. That's it.

365 Cards - #203 - Feeling Lucky

I am feeling very lucky today and so is everyone else over at 365 Cards today as the challenge is to use a symbol for luck. I chose the Kanji set from SU because I have always believed that all oriental symbols are lucky. To prove that theory I received and silver necklace years ago from my Dad who was in the Merchant Navy at the time and it was an oriental symbol for good luck and that very same symbol is the love one in this Kanji set and if I could find the necklace now I would take a pic to show you.

Okay so that is my card today now the group of pics below is a project I am currently working on for my daughter Ashleigh. She is moving out to live with her fiance in just under two weeks (Idon't know what I will do without having my little grandaughter around all the time). I am trying hard not to cry in front of her and not doing to crash hot at it just between us. As you can tell by the title it is a budget organiser for all the different things she has to pay and save for each fortnight (two weeks). I got this idea from Custom Crops under their project videos and I fell in love with the idea of it so I got to and made one. Ash and I both love it. She wanted a vintage one which is what I have done.

If you are still with me thankyou I forgot to say earlier that this was a long post lol. This next pic is of the categories that she wants. I still have to put a torn piece of designer paper just a little bigger than the word piece yet and I am also waiting for a Teresa Collins stamp which is a list type stamp so that under each category she can put what the breakdown is and that will be adhered to the other end of each envelope with a paper clip. As you can see I still have most of the envelopes to embellish yet but I want it to be spectacular for her so I am taking my time with it.

This pic here is one that I have used a flourish stamp all over to embellish it.

This is a pic of all the different colours I have used to colour each envelope and I used Ranger's distress inks and just wiped them over the envelope to give that aged, rustic look. The beauty of the budget book is the categories can be changed quite easily as they are not adhered permanently.

This last shot is another shot of the front cover. The papers are from that lovely set of vintage papers that my bestie bought for me. I used Bella flowers and stamped a flourish and my text stamp with Ranger distress ink in Vintage Photo and inked the edges as well. I really love how it turned out. I also used my Cricut Storybook cartridge for the letters and my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch and my Bind-It-All of course to bind it. I hope you like it. I am taking this to the markets tomorrow as a sample and will take orders until I can get some made to take next market.
Okay that is it for me tonight have to get to bed earlier than I have been going lately lol.

365 Cards - #202 - Once Upon A Time

It's all about fairytales over at 365 Cards today and our card is to be inspired by your favourite fairytale. My favourite fairytale is Cinderella but the trouble was I didn't have anything in my stash that would inspire me so once again I looked to that huge gallery. . . the internet!! I found an image that I liked where Cinderella is trying on the glass slipper so obviously it was after the ball. The background paper is from DCWV Once Upon A Time paper stack of course and the Sentiment is from the Cricut Storybook cartridge. I used the Zyron to create a sticker out of it and there was glue in between the words so I sprinkled gold glitter and it stuck where the glue was. I think it gives a nice effect don't you? I made the flower embellishment out of all the papers that I used tonight but it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to but you know that saying. . .the beauty is in the imperfection.

That is all there is tonight people and it is Friday night where I am and here I am sitting at home lol which I might add is where I usually am. The nightlife does not call my name anymore thank goodness.

365 Cards - #201 - One, Two, Buckle My Shoe

We are to include a shoe on our card today over at 365 Cards. Didn't matter what type as long as it is a shoe. I just happened to have these lovely vintage rub-ons that I have been coveting for quite some time and tonight was the night they came out to play for a bit. Because they were vintage I decided to make a vintagy card. Once again I have used these tickets from The Timsters Range which was a RAK from Sherry a while ago. I think this may be the second one I have used hehehe. One cannot rush these things especially The Timster's things. One must covet them for quite some time before they can bring themselves to use something.

Okay so that is it for me tonight as I am hitting the bed early (it is only 10.10pm here) to make up for all the late ones I have been having lately doing cards and checking out blogs etc.

365 Cards - #200 - It's What Inside That Counts

It's all about displaying an image on the front of the card without the sentiment but the image has to portray what the sentiment is and that goes inside and has to include I Miss You. This is the challenge for today over at 365 Cards so why don't you all join us over there we don't bite you know. We are a fun group of gals enjoying sharing our cards together. I was really stuck for an idea tonight and finally resorted to the web again for an image. The result is below and I am not one for Bears on cards anymore lol but this little one was so cute I had to use him. The sentiment inside was the other part of the pic lol.

I include the words needed to complete the challenge and this little bear really does look like he is missing a special someone doesn't he? Staring out the window like that looking lost and lonely lol.

Okay I am tired and I am off to bed.

365 Cards - #199 - Shape Up!

Over at 365 Cards today the challenge was to use a hexagon as the dominating shape on your card. I very nearly did not want to do it lol and went to bed stewing on it so I was up at 6am this morning checking out everyone elses entries and I thought if they can then I can so I got to it and made my card. I know it is later than it normally would be up here but at least it is up here. I ummed and ahhed about what papers and then what image etc etc and I want to say this is the first time I have procrastinated over those things as normally I choose paper and cardstock immediately and the image comes last but I could not seem to get it together for this one . . .thanks Pam lol!!

The components look crooked in this image but I can assure they aren't. I think it was the angle that I took it perhaps. Anyway that is it for the day for me.

365 Cards - #198 - Make A Mosaic

It's all about making a mosaic on your card today over at 365 Cards. In Pam's words "So today's challenge is to create a mosaic. Now you can do this a couple of ways. Nice clean cuts of paper to create even shapes OR lots of different shapes, sizes and patterns. Either way you choose to do it, piece together a mosaic on your card." I chose nice clean cuts of paper to create my mosaic as you can see below, although some of them have gone awry by the look of it.

The ribbon I have used is from the same RAK from Sherry as the vintage flowers from SSS yesterday. See I can release my coveted stuff when I want to lol but it is only a little bit for the bow that I tied around the chipboard heart lol. Now I am off to check out others work and other blogs for more inspiration.

Colour Throwdown - #59

I came across this challenge blog today Colour Throwdown and decided that I would give it a go and do the sketch. The colours to use are listed below and I would never have throught to put the Ruby Red with the other two but it works of course lol.
This is my take using the colours listed above. I hope you enjoy my card today and I hope to continue following this challenge.

365 Cards - #197 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Super Sketchy Sunday over at 365 Cards today and what a sketch it is. Take a look below and see what I mean. I immediately thought of a football when I saw the image (sorry Pam) so I chose to make my oval a scallop oval so it didn't look like a football lol.

Then to add some texture I Cuttlebugged it with the Swiss Dots folder and the band over the top is Cuttlebugged with the Victorian folder. The May Arts vintage flowers are a gift from Sherry in that RAK I received a while ago now and this is the first time I have been able to bring myself to use some. I have been coveting again. . .*hangs head* I cannot seem t help myself from saving them for something special lol. I mean every card should be special or at least that is what I tell myself when I continue to covet all my lovelies lololol but tonight it was the first time it worked hehe.

I hope you enjoy my card tonight and now I am about to do another post with a challenge for the Colour Throwdown blog. This will be my first one for that challenge blog.

365 Cards - #196 - Just A Touch

Over at 365 Cards today the challenge was Just A Touch! "And here's the specific challenge: Using a stamped image (ink or digi), use black on white, and just add a touch of color somewhere. I'm going with the "less is more" theory on this one!" Those were Pam's words to the letter. I chose my SU Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set to use as well as my new DCWV Garden Party paper stack. I used SU Pastels to give the rose just a hint of Cameo Coral colour. There you have it for the day. No fuss, no drama, just plain and to the point lol.

Okay I am absolutely knackered after helping our daughter and son in law move house today so am going to have a shower, dinner and then maybe look at some online craft videos. . .yeah I know I am truly sad aren't I. Here I am on a Saturday night looking at craft videos on the net. But if anyone asks me I can just say Oh I watched videos hehehehehehe. I don't have to tell them what they were lol that is just between you and me okay. . .secret squirrel business.

365 Cards - #195 - Pretty Pattern

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge is all about gingham! "But you won't be surprised, I'm sure that this is not a simple challenge. Create a piece of clothing with gingham as the pattern. You can stamp it, print a digital image, hand-draw it, or whatever you wish to do." In Pam's own words! I again did not have any stamps or digi images with a piece of clothing in gingham so I went a searchin' on the net for a gingham dress. I finally found a vintage pattern that I thought I would be able to paper piece it was already in colour which shows a bit as the "gingham" is a bit dull for being over printed in colour on it. The gingham is from my brand spanking new DCWV Garden Party paper stack which I got today as well as the Latte stack. . . .nice!!! The pleated ribbon is also new today which I absolutely love.

So this is my card for the challenge. I hope you like it. Below is my brand spanking new Round-It-All from Zutter which I have had on layby for ages along with the tote bag for my Bind-It-All, I finally had enough money to get the layby out today and can I say I am in love with my Round-It-All!!! Makes doing corners in chipboard, tin, leather etc a breeze. I had to take a pic of me holding it of course.

Okay that is it for me today people.

365 Cards - #194 - Imagine This - Technology

It is all about technology over at 365 Cards today. Our card is about how technology inspires us. I thought mobile phones, computers etc etc etc. But I don't have any of those in rub ons or rubber stamps so I did what one does when they need to finish something I used the internet and went searching for free clip art images based on technology. Do you know how many there are on the net? LOTS!!!! I chose this one because it is a girl sitting at the computer typing away which then inspired the sentiment because really lets face it that's what we say to friends and family these days usually don't we? Email me instead of I will write to you or I will phone you. My card is very plain looking for me but I find technology based things are plain and industrial if you get my meaning. No flowers or flourishes etc just steel brads, a bulldog clip and even the font was Courier lol.

Okay that is it from me tonight and I am off to bed shortly as it is after midnight here.
In the meantime. . . .
Walk about your day with beauty.

Supplies: SU Kraft, Mellow Moss and Whisper White cardstock and designer paper. Also brads and mini bulldog clip. The image is from the net and the sentiment is from the computer. Ranger Walnut Stain distress ink.

365 Cards - #193 - Card Recipe & Paper Blooms - B.L.I.N.G.

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge was a card recipe and our card had to be a 5x5 card with 4 x designer papers, 3 x blossoms, 5 rhinestones, 1 x stamp or digi image and 1 x sentiment of our choice. I completed the challenge but then realised that I had used a different paper for the side panel down the right side of my card. I was talking to my daughter at the time of making this card and she had just gotten her first job. Yes I know she is nearly 21 yrs old but she has mental health issues which have always held her back. Bipolar disorder and an anxiety disorder can be quite challenging to deal with when you are young. But she managed to turn herself around and get this job and she is moving out with her partner in the next two weeks so I am so so proud of her for these big achievements. I am going to miss my little grandaughter but I will get to babysit her when Ash goes to work yay!!!!. Okay so I digress a bit. . . anyway I was talking to Ash and I picked up another designer paper from the DCWV paper stack and did not even realise that it was different until I had completed my card lol, so I am living on the edge with Gloria and Rose today for this challenge lol. This card also fits the Paper Blooms challenge this fortnight which is all about having B.L.I.N.G. on our card and my card certainly has that.

So here is my card for today. I hope you enjoy it.

365 Cards - #192 - So Sweet

Today over at 365 Cards the challenge was to have the word "Sweet" on your card. I was lucky in that I had that very sentiment in my Unity Stamp Set of the Month for May which was blog candy winnings from Sherry and I love the whole set. The image is from that set as well which I just love. I hand coloured the image using SU stamp pads with the aqua pen. I have not even done my card for yesterday yet but I will get it done before the end of the week I am trying to get as many vintage journals made as I can and I make them from scratch using the Bind-It-All. The local busy book shop in town has seen me at the markets and wants my journals and cards in her shop asap so I need to get some down to her, plus I have all my christmas orders to complete.

Okay that is it for me tonight I have also completed a card for Paper Blooms and one for my daughter Courtney who is feeling down at the moment.

Supplies: All supplies used are Stampin' Up! except for the stamps used which are from Unity. Cardstock Pink Pirohuette and Whisper White, Bella Rose designer paper, Grosgrain ribbon, Pink Pirohuette, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss stamp pads. Aqua Pen.

Paper Blooms - It's A Flower, But It's Not

The challenge this time around on Paper Blooms was to use a flower as something other than a flower and as you can see by my card I have done just that. Although it does look kinda funny lol. I used the Tim Holtz "Man With An Umbrella" stamp from one of his Idealology sets as is the sentiment from the same set. The flowers are from my stash and I have folded them in half but when I look at it the umbrella appears to have turned itself inside out in the wind lol but I did follow the contours of the umbrella itself. All cardstock is from Stampin'Up! including the white gel pen and the Chocolate Chip stamp pad. However it is Ranger Distress Ink around the edges of the card. (my husbands idea, he said it gives the image depth!)

Okay that is it for me now I have to go and make some vintage journals for the local book shop who wants to stock my products.

365 Cards - #189 Charming & #190 Super Sketchy Sunday

I missed the challenge on Saturday over at 365 Cards because I was getting ready for the markets so I chose to combine both Charming and Super Sketchy Sunday and put them into one card. The sketch were were to follow is the one below and my interpretation is below that again.

I added the appropriate charm which is a butterfly button that I cut the shank off of and the rest of the card is based on Super Sketchy Sunday sketch.

Now as promised here is a pic of my little grandaughter Lily who turned one on Saturday with her little fairy outfit. Paul, her dad is holding her as she just blew her candles out (well Paul did anyway). She is a bit shell shocked because a room full of people sang Happy Birthday to her and she is so tired that she was falling asleep in her high chair, so we quickly lit the candles and got her out to sing to her before she went to bed.

Here is Elijah eating his lunch which he did not really want as he had filled up on party food beforehand.

This is a lovely black and white pic that my daughter Courtney took at the party of her niece Sophie. It was in colour originally but Ashleigh changed it to black and white when Courtney emailed it to her. I think it is beautiful indeed. She also had her fairy outfit on but you can't really see it in the pic.

Well that is it for me today.
