365 Cards - #202 - Once Upon A Time

It's all about fairytales over at 365 Cards today and our card is to be inspired by your favourite fairytale. My favourite fairytale is Cinderella but the trouble was I didn't have anything in my stash that would inspire me so once again I looked to that huge gallery. . . the internet!! I found an image that I liked where Cinderella is trying on the glass slipper so obviously it was after the ball. The background paper is from DCWV Once Upon A Time paper stack of course and the Sentiment is from the Cricut Storybook cartridge. I used the Zyron to create a sticker out of it and there was glue in between the words so I sprinkled gold glitter and it stuck where the glue was. I think it gives a nice effect don't you? I made the flower embellishment out of all the papers that I used tonight but it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to but you know that saying. . .the beauty is in the imperfection.

That is all there is tonight people and it is Friday night where I am and here I am sitting at home lol which I might add is where I usually am. The nightlife does not call my name anymore thank goodness.
In the meantime. . . .

365 Cards - #197 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Super Sketchy Sunday over at 365 Cards today and what a sketch it is. Take a look below and see what I mean. I immediately thought of a football when I saw the image (sorry Pam) so I chose to make my oval a scallop oval so it didn't look like a football lol.

Then to add some texture I Cuttlebugged it with the Swiss Dots folder and the band over the top is Cuttlebugged with the Victorian folder. The May Arts vintage flowers are a gift from Sherry in that RAK I received a while ago now and this is the first time I have been able to bring myself to use some. I have been coveting again. . .*hangs head* I cannot seem t help myself from saving them for something special lol. I mean every card should be special or at least that is what I tell myself when I continue to covet all my lovelies lololol but tonight it was the first time it worked hehe.

I hope you enjoy my card tonight and now I am about to do another post with a challenge for the Colour Throwdown blog. This will be my first one for that challenge blog.

Get Sketchy challenge #3

I am feeling a lot better today so I decided to branch out and do some other challenges and I had been meaning to do Get Sketchy's challenges since the beginning but you know sickness waits for nobody!!! So here it is the third challenge in and I am finally well enough to join in. This is the sketch that we were to follow this week.

And this is my interpretation of the above sketch. I hope you like it, it's a little different for me but I think I like it. The more I look at it the more I am digging it lol. Of course the sentiment is computer generated from my head (messy place that), that beautiful black lace and the butterfly stamp are from Sherry, (thankyou again Sherry).

Okay enough waffling for today. That is it from me.

365 Cards - #161 - Cool Collage

I'm sorry everyone for not keeping up with the challenges over at 365 Cards but I have been sick in bed since lunch time Friday with the Flu. I tried to make my card yesterday but was too sick to, so I am out of bed today long enough to do my card for today and will catch up with the other one tomorrow if I feel any better. I have only had the flu twice in my life the first time I was pregnant with Ashleigh and she is now nearly 21. I was in bed for a week then. You should have seen me people I was crying like a little girl cause I was sick and shaky and miserable to the point that Ray (My husband) wanted to take me to the hospital (in case it was swine flu) so he rang them and they told him if she gets any worse bring her straight up. Well I tell you I was not going to say a word even if I got sicker hehehe I hate hospitals!!! I only got out of bed today because my bones were hurting from being in bed for so long but I didn't last long. Ok enough is enough I need to get back to my bed. My card tonight is a joint effort with my hubby as I was sooking saying I was too sick lalalala and all the rest. Ray said to leave it and do it tomorrow to which my reply was (whiney like) I can't then I will have three to catch up on hehehehe I am laughing because I get really sooky when I get really sick. I need smacking sometimes when I hear myself. But last night I could not stand alone so Ray bless him, showered me, dried me and re-dressed me and put me back to bed. How tragic does that sound? I need smacking!!! So I digress. . .Ray helped me with this card or it was not going to get done. I went for so simple it's laughable.

This card is not the normal me and I apologise for that, but Ray mainly did all the placing etc and thankyou love, for that (he will probably read this *grins) So without further waffling from me because you all know I do that a lot. I am going back to bed.

365 Cards - #155 - Super Sketchy Sunday

This is the sketch for 365 Cards today because it's Super Sketchy Sunday!!!! I didn't get to make my card last night as I went to bed rather early. Getting up in winter for the Sunday markets is a killer and at minus 5 degrees celsius I could not warm up until at least 11am. Could not feel my feet or hands and I swear my nose had a permanent tap attached to it heehee. The market is the first one of the month out of two markets for our area and this is one was considered to be the smaller market of the two. I did really well and sold several of my new pieces which I was thrilled about. Then along came Tess from The Dust Jacket in town (the local book store) and she was oohing and aahing over my stuff as was her teenage daughter. They purchased some pieces and Tess asked me if I would be interested in bringing some of my beautiful cards and my vintage journals that I make down to the shop to sell. I mean, come on people do I have silly written across my forehead? No? Well that's because I am not silly lol and I jumped at the opportunity to have my stuff put into her shop to sell. So this week I will take a whole selection of cards and journals down town to display in The Dust Jacket for sale.. . .yay!!! Then to top it off about 8-10 women are very keen to do my vintage journal class commencing in two weeks!!! How is that for a successful day? Okay enough of my life stuff let's get onto the card.

This is my take on the sketch above. I hope you like it as much as I do. I used some of my brand new Kaisercraft flowers that my bestie picked up on her trip to Sydney for training this past week and delivered to me at the markets yesterday. We share a market stall together lol. I think that is it for me until later on today when Monday brings a whole new week of challenges for us to complete.

2 Sketches For You - Kazan's Sketch #29 and Paper Blooms - Be Inspired

I thought I would expand my horizons a bit and enter a few more challenges and I love the cards that are shown on 2 Sketches 4 You and have been a lurker on their blog for quite a while now and decided to jump in with both feet. The sketch to follow was by Kazan this week.
This card also fits the Paper Blooms challenge this week as it is to be inspired and the designer paper on my card has been calling my name for months and months in my stash and I kept saving it for a special occasion lol but I thought it was no good sitting in my stash and I am going to use it now. I absolutely love this paper and I wish I had more of it but I only have one sheet as that was all that was available at the time of purchase.

This paper is so lovely and it is one by Daisy D. Well that is it for me tonight.

365 Cards - #113 Super Sketchy Sunday

It is Super Sketchy Sunday over at 365 Cards today and below is the sketch we are to follow. . .

And this is my interpretation of the sketch. I really liked how it turned out.

I tried to use a rub-on directly onto the ribbon but I ruined it so decided to stamp straight onto it which I should have done in the first place. I used the Don Juan cartridge with my Cricut for the arrows and a Retro Flowers punch from EK Success. The markets today was a waste of time as we were rained out before a sale could be made. . .never mind I have stock for next time lol.

365 Cards - #62

I know I'm late today but it was so sick with this horrible bug that I cannot shift no matter what I do.  I think it's just a continuation of what I had but now it has turned into a cold and we all have it in our home so there is plenty of coughing and spluttering lol.
Today's challenge had to include a number and the number had to signify the importance of the event so I chose to do a 21st birthday card.  This could be for a male or female and I went for sophiscated so I hope I pulled it off.  I also used my Cricut to cut the numbers out and I should have used the jolly thing the other night when I was looking for the word 'WHAT' but I forgot all about it. . .duh!!!  So this is my card for #62 please enjoy.

Creative Space Thursday

Hi there everyone, we all know what today is don't we?  Yep that's right it is Creative Space Thursday!!  A day that I love as it is the day where I get to peek into other creative peoples' creative spaces.  I have been fairly busy this past week as you will see.  I decided to join into some card creating challenge sites and it has been non stop since.  So without further ado here is my space for this week.  Please enjoy the journey through my space. . .

This is my machine space. . . my Cuttlebug, my Bind-It-All, and my Cricut Create and behind that is a beautiful canvas that was gifted to me by an amazing spiritual woman - Anna.  Look within the picture and you will see images peeking through. . . it's quite amazing!!

This is the first corner of my creative station where I make all my projects.

This is the other end of my creative station where my folder of cardstock sits as well as my scrapbooking printed 12 x 12 papers are in the folders on top.  (These are just the current ones lol)

A middle view of my work station and the cards in view there are the ones I have uploaded to the various challenge sites.  I tell you it is the best decision I have made it got me out of my rut I was in and it keeps me creating which is a jolly good thing indeed.

Another shot, geez I must have been snap happy this morning with the sun shining into my space it was absolutely glorious to see after the rain.

The basket here has some of my smaller amounts of ribbon spooled onto the old fashioned dolly pegs which someone told me about, a really good idea as it saves all that tangled mess one tends to get in their ribbon stash.

Another shot of my finished cards. . .

Finally the supplies for my next project (Ssshhh it's a secret)  no not really I just have not decided what I am going to make with it just that I wanted that combination for my next project hehehehe.

Well that is it for my space this week people.  I hope you enjoyed the trip around my space.  I do have a whole craft room around that table but it is not where I get my creative spurt from lol it is from life, my surroundings, books I read, people I meet and last but not least. .  my crazy mixed up head.
You should pop on over to Kootoyoo's blog to check out all the other amazing creative spaces.  Go on I dare you. . .
