365 Cards - #203 - Feeling Lucky

I am feeling very lucky today and so is everyone else over at 365 Cards today as the challenge is to use a symbol for luck. I chose the Kanji set from SU because I have always believed that all oriental symbols are lucky. To prove that theory I received and silver necklace years ago from my Dad who was in the Merchant Navy at the time and it was an oriental symbol for good luck and that very same symbol is the love one in this Kanji set and if I could find the necklace now I would take a pic to show you.

Okay so that is my card today now the group of pics below is a project I am currently working on for my daughter Ashleigh. She is moving out to live with her fiance in just under two weeks (Idon't know what I will do without having my little grandaughter around all the time). I am trying hard not to cry in front of her and not doing to crash hot at it just between us. As you can tell by the title it is a budget organiser for all the different things she has to pay and save for each fortnight (two weeks). I got this idea from Custom Crops under their project videos and I fell in love with the idea of it so I got to and made one. Ash and I both love it. She wanted a vintage one which is what I have done.

If you are still with me thankyou I forgot to say earlier that this was a long post lol. This next pic is of the categories that she wants. I still have to put a torn piece of designer paper just a little bigger than the word piece yet and I am also waiting for a Teresa Collins stamp which is a list type stamp so that under each category she can put what the breakdown is and that will be adhered to the other end of each envelope with a paper clip. As you can see I still have most of the envelopes to embellish yet but I want it to be spectacular for her so I am taking my time with it.

This pic here is one that I have used a flourish stamp all over to embellish it.

This is a pic of all the different colours I have used to colour each envelope and I used Ranger's distress inks and just wiped them over the envelope to give that aged, rustic look. The beauty of the budget book is the categories can be changed quite easily as they are not adhered permanently.

This last shot is another shot of the front cover. The papers are from that lovely set of vintage papers that my bestie bought for me. I used Bella flowers and stamped a flourish and my text stamp with Ranger distress ink in Vintage Photo and inked the edges as well. I really love how it turned out. I also used my Cricut Storybook cartridge for the letters and my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch and my Bind-It-All of course to bind it. I hope you like it. I am taking this to the markets tomorrow as a sample and will take orders until I can get some made to take next market.
Okay that is it for me tonight have to get to bed earlier than I have been going lately lol.
In the meantime. . . .
Walk about your day with beauty.

I love your card. I have always liked the Kanji symbols. Your daughter is very lucky to have a Mom like you...the organizer is a great idea. I wish I would have had one when I first moved out on my own.
